By Car
Please follow these directions rather than your GPS. Online maps have not been updated with the new roads and may send you on long detours over bad roads.
From the International Airport or Belize City
166 km, about 2 h 35 min
Take the Philip Goldson Highway north to Corozal Town. Do not follow Google Maps through San Estevan or Progresso.
From Corozal Town, follow the directions below.
From Chetumal (Mexico border) or Corozal Town
In Corozal Town, look for Tony’s Inn and Beach Resort on your map: the road to Sarteneja starts there. Then follow the blue route on the map:
1. Cross the bridge over the New River.
2. At the Progresso junction, turn left towards Copper Bank, then follow the road signs to Sarteneja.
3. Just before you reach Sarteneja, turn right at the BANDERA ROAD sign to reach Horse Cottage.
By Bus
Sarteneja Bus Lines, Monday to Saturday
No bus on Sundays
Ask the driver to drop you at Horse Cottage.
From Corozal Town – US$4

From Belize City – US$7.50
Departs from the Swing Bridge in Belize City at:

11:50 am
4:00 pm
4:45 pm (not on Saturdays)
From Orange Walk Town – US$5
Buses pass about 1 h 30 min after each Belize City departure.
Catch the bus at the Orange Walk Bus Terminal or in front of St Christopher’s Hotel, where it stops for a break.
The bus stops at the junction to the hotel (see map below).
By Boat
From Corozal – US$13
Take the Thunderbolt Water Taxi at the pier
Departs daily at 7:00 am
From San Pedro (Ambergris Caye) – US$25
Take the Thunderbolt Water Taxi at the pier
Departs daily at 3:00 pm
From the Sarteneja pier, you can walk to the hotel or we can arrange a taxi for US$5 (see map below)
