How To Get Here

By Private Transportation

From International Airport Road or Belize City
Drive 142 km, 3hr30m

Follow Northern Hwy to Orange Walk District
Then take:

1. Orange Walk-San Estevan Road
2. Progresso-San Estevan Road
3. Chunox Road
4. Chunox-Sarteneja Road

Just before reaching Sarteneja Village’s entrance, follow the sign Horse Cottage and take the road on the right (see map of the Bus drop)

From Chetumal – Mexico Border – Corozal
74km, time depending on traffic at the ferries

From Corozal Town, follow:
1. Corozal-Progresso Road, pass the ferry. At the junction, turn left towards Copper Bank.
2. Take the SHORTCUT highlighted in RED on our maps. (Google Maps do not suggest this shortcut as it hasn’t registered the second ferry and believes it is a dead end).

3. Cross Copper Bank and the second ferry. Once at the Chunox junction, turn left towards Sarteneja on the Chunox-Sarteneja Road.

Just before reaching Sarteneja Village’s entrance, follow the sign Horse Cottage and take the road on the right (see map of the Bus drop)

By Bus

Sarteneja Bus Lines, Monday to Saturday
NO BUS ON SUNDAYS
Ask Bus Driver to drop you at Horse Cottage Hotel in Sarteneja

From Corozal or Mexico – US$4
Leaves at 2:30pm from Corozal Town Bus Terminal

From Belize City – US$7.5
Leaving from the Swing Bridge in Belize City at:
10:30am
11:50am
4:00pm
4:45pm (except on Saturdays)

From Orange Walk Town – US$5
Buses reach about 1hr30min after departure from Belize City (see schedule above)
Catch the bus at the Orange Walk Bus Terminal or in front of St Christopher Hotel where it stops for a break.

The Bus will drop you at the junction to the hotel (see map below)

By Boat

From Corozal – US$13
Take the Thunderbolt Water Taxi at the pier
leaving at 7am Monday to Sunday

From San Pedro Island – US$25
Take the Thunderbolt Water Taxi at the pier
leaving at 3pm Monday to Sunday

We can arrange a taxi from the Sarteneja pier to the hotel – US$5 – or you can walk to the hotel (see map below)
